I forgot to mention that I tested the other functions in MediaPortal : DVD, MP3, and pictures.
They all work as you'd expect. Excellent.

Building a dedicated media box, or Home Theatre PC/Personal Video Recorder (HTPC/PVR) is something I’ve wanted to do for a while. I figure I may aswell document the process as it happens.
